Here goes nothing....

Just figured I should try this blogging thing since I will be away until May without a phone! I will do my best to keep this updated for everyone. My apologies in advance if I fall behind, the 8 hour time difference it is going to make it tough to talk to everyone as often as I'd like.

I will be studying at the University of Limerick in Limerick, Ireland. I am leaving on January 13th from San Francisco with my best friend Shasta. She is going for 10 days to explore and travel the Emerald Isle with me before we each start our final semesters as juniors in college!!

I do not find out who I live with, or even if I have been approved for an apartment on campus until the 4th of January, so cross your fingers for me. Shasta and I will arrive on the 14th to the Shannon Airport, which is 20 minutes from my school. Our plan, I think, is to stay in Dublin and the Northern part of the country for a few days until I am able to move into the apartment (hopefully) on the 16th. I have no idea what to expect, so we are going to "wing it", safely of course, and just have fun and find out what to do as we go...I am sure that makes my family a little uneasy-but it is all part of the adventure, right?

The next 2 weeks will be dedicated to getting the details figured out like banking, getting through customs, classes, housing and most importantly, looking up places I want to be sure to visit while I am abroad. I already know I want to be in Santorini Greece for Spring Break, and I have friends studying all over Europe this semester as well, so hopefully we can all meet up. So if anyone has great places I should be sure to see, let me know and I will add to this never-ending list I have already!!

I am sure I will add another one of these when I am procrastinating and supposed to be packing.
