I knew I was overdue for a technical problem...

You guessed it, my computer crashed. Hardrive problems. I took a long nap Friday  and so I was up pretty late that night, did not realize it was 3am until I looked at the clock. I was facebooking, listening to music and marketing podcasts and reading the materials for my folklore class. I realized I should probably head to sleep before I messed up my sleeping schedule even more. The next afternoon after I did a little ab workout and made breakfast I decided to check my facebook and email accounts only to find...

BOOTMGR is missing. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart
with a series of funky symbols and junk all over the screen in cool colors

....AWESOME!
ctrl + alt + delete doesnt work FYI, it just brings me back to the same screen, it's like a never ending cycle for me. I do not know what it is- I did not download anything (I learned the hard way over Christmas break), I did not open any funky sites or pop up ads...

I will be honest though, not having the computer on a rainy Saturday led to a pretty productive day. I worked out for 2 hours this time, cleaned the entire apt, took an inventory of what dishes and stuff we had and were missing to turn in to reception (finally), swept upstairs and downstairs, cleaned the ladies' shower, cleaned the stove, washed the dish rags, swept the kitchen, took the trash and recycling out, did the dishes, color coded the clothes in my closet, did my own laundry, and then read and annotated a 30 page article/journal for my networking class project due in a month. I found an episode of American Idol auditions (in Texas/LA- don't know if that is caught up or a few weeks behind, then watched a few Criminal Minds episodes from 3 years ago I'm pretty postive. Maybe not having a computer will be better for me, I might just give in and forfeit to all technology. My phone glitches now and flickers between two screens (Not worth it to complain anymore- I'm giving into whatever force that is within me)

Yesterday was the Superbowl. Maybe I should say last night or early this morning. Either way...

Superbowl in Ireland < Superbowl in the United States

There were no fancy/funny/witty/memorable commercials, no superbowl party, no bets, no munchies...just not the same. We went to a bar called Flannary's. We got there at 9:00, listened to an awesome guy on the guitar for about an hour then watched the pre-game stuff, by watched I mean just that; there was no sound, and if there was it was too loud to hear anything. The American football team that plays here in Ireland took over our table, it was fun, but could not hear anything. The place was wild once the game started of course, it was packed. 95% of the bar consisted of Packers fans. I think it's funny that they have 'teams' and jerseys and merchandise here...seems weird to me. We did not leave the bar until 3:30 this morning. Somehow I woke up before my alarm though for my 10am class, so that worked out for me.

Monday's are marketing & this morning's funny add winner goes to...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x89xAXHd2l8 ... I think I will enjoy the class. Its easy to understand.

Since I am in the Library I will end this now- don't know if this is a long or short one. Prior to my computer crashing I was going to post shorter entries rather than novels, silly me for assuming it would be so simple...

Enjoying the feedback. Although it may sound like everything goes wrong here (because it kind of does)-I LOVE it. I really do. Even when it rains we seem to not get wet (hard to explain), it is warmer when it rains, and im either acclimated to the temperature, or it is getting warmer in general... I really do like it and fear that I will have to leave sooner than I will want to :/

Off to find a computer person to solve my problems (with the computer at least)

  1. It does seem odd that they would have NFL merchandise... I'm with you on the giving in to whatever "NoTechno" thing you have going on. I can't explain it or understand it, so like you, it is easier to accept it. Glad you are enjoying your time and sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but YES - YOU WILL BE LEAVING THAT LITTLE ISLAND AND COMING HOME! (that was in my Mom voice).

    Love and hugs. LUM

  2. I can't believe you got ALL that stuff done in one day!!! I think we might all be better off without our computers.

  3. It was only a matter of time, I suppose. The elliptical mishap was the first sign. I admire your productive and positive spirit. Hang in there and we look forward to the next updates.
